Two T5 interstellar warships, and 100 trillion star coins earned!
Though the Owl Dragon Legion has not many T5 warships in its own hands at present, at the least these two classes had begun to be built upon a large scale.
And most important of all, the cost of these two classes is not high.
The two together come to but 500 billion star coins.
By which Zhao Chen might seize a further military order from the Angel Race.
And the profit earned would of course be thrown, through this stretch of time, wholly into the building of the Owl Dragon Galactic Interstellar Group.
Through this while, because the supply of raw materials was ample.
Lilith's hand in the building plans had been very open-handed too.
"So now the funds for building that fleet are in hand." Zhao Chen came back to the bridge, threw himself into the captain's chair, spun it once round, and his face was all bright with an excited smile.
"Commander, why are you so happy?" Little Dragon Girl looked at him in surprise.
Zhao Chen laughed. "I have signed another military order of 100 trillion with the Holy Angel King. Tut, tut — worthy of an Angel Race whose annual output reaches 300 trillion star coins; rich and open-handed indeed. It seems we may shake this money tree a while longer."
"100 trillion star coins! Then can we not build a great many warships!" Little Dragon Girl has in truth no very great notion of wealth, but she knows it can build a great many warships.
"This money is for building my super fleet!" As Zhao Chen said it he opened a document of his own making.
What was written upon it was very simple.
A train of interstellar warships, some three hundred in number.
But cast an eye over these warships and one would find.
That this whole column was T5-grade warships!
Just so — this was the thought Zhao Chen had held before.
Once the Owl Dragon Legion had completed its two phases of expansion and held 300,000 warships.
Zhao Chen meant to forge a sharp sword.
A super fleet of three hundred hulls, T5 throughout.
This thought Zhao Chen had raised with Lilith before.
And been stopped outright by a single word of hers.
No money.
The build cost of a T5 warship is exceedingly dear.
The cheapest, the T5 King-of-the-Hill-class Heavy Interstellar Comprehensive Strategic Escort, wants 40 billion star coins the hull.
And the dearest, the T5 Fire-Qilin and the Holy Redeemer, want 4 trillion apiece!
And this super fleet Zhao Chen would forge wants, by the present planning, at the least 120 trillion star coins!
By the original plan, once the year's other production and building tasks were done, some of it might be built at the year's end — and how many hulls would depend upon the case.
Which is why Zhao Chen chose to sell the Holy Angel King those two T5 warships, and take a military order of 100 trillion for them.
With that order in hand, he could feed the Owl Dragon Legion back, and set the building of this super fleet upon the calendar.
Heh heh… heh heh…
At the thought of it Zhao Chen could not help wanting to laugh.
Thereafter three days were spent, and this military order was smoothly completed.
Zhao Chen, with the 40 trillion star coins of raw materials in payment and the 10 trillion deposit upon that super order, set out with the interstellar transport fleet to return to the Owl Dragon.
And those 20,000 Owl Dragon-line warships, in the shortest time, completed their training and running-in and were handed straight to Tilia's Holy Dragon Angel Legion.
Zhao Chen heard that Tilia's Holy Dragon Angel Legion had become the Angel Race's acknowledged twenty-first angel legion, and that its fighting power already held, dimly, one of the first three seats among the angel legions.
And that even Tilia's own standing had passed that of the other five Angel Guards.
With those 20,000 Owl Dragon-line warships to fill her out, Tilia and her Holy Dragon Angel Legion would surely win fresh merit upon the front-line fields!
——————
Resting upon the star gate route, Zhao Chen was very soon back in the Owl Dragon Star System.
At the first moment the Dragon Emperor arrived, a figure of light was transmitted to the bridge.
The secretary Lilith.
Seeing Lilith walk toward him, Zhao Chen at once opened both arms and went to meet her.
But Lilith slipped aside and walked to Little Dragon Girl, leaving Zhao Chen to catch at nothing and stand there somewhat awkwardly.
"Little Dragon Girl, help me arrange this. These 40 trillion star coins of raw material stores are to be sent severally to the several places that want them." Lilith gave Little Dragon Girl set after set of data.
Little Dragon Girl could produce the best plan of handling in the shortest time.
"But what we have brought back is not 40 trillion; it is 50 trillion." Little Dragon Girl blinked her eyes as she said it.
50 trillion?
Which startled Lilith indeed.
She remembered very clearly that the military order delivered this time was worth 40 trillion star coins; nor would she suppose the extra 10 trillion a gift from a tearfully grateful Angel Race.
Unless those three Angel Kings had had their heads struck by a starship.
"What is this?" Lilith turned back toward Zhao Chen and inquired in surprise.
Zhao Chen said nothing, with all the air of a man who will not speak to you, and sat straight down in his captain's chair.
Lilith rolled her eyes; at times this man is like some majestic hero, and at times like a child who will not grow up.
"What in the world is this extra 10 trillion?" Lilith walked to the side of the captain's chair and asked again.
But the next second Lilith was pulled outright by Zhao Chen.
Lilith tumbled into Zhao Chen's arms.
Lilith may be a succubus, but in this matter most of what she has is theoretical knowledge — still more upon the bridge, with the crew all about them!
"What are you doing." Lilith reddened and glared at him; she would have risen, but Zhao Chen's hand seemed fixed there, and shake it off she could not.
"What do you suppose I am doing?" Zhao Chen looked at her with a wicked grin.
In former days Zhao Chen would have covered it over a little.
But now that Lilith and Charlotte each knew of the other, there was no need for Zhao Chen to go on hiding it.
And the two seemed still to be in their cold war with him; and of this alliance of one small succubus and one small cat, the small succubus was beyond doubt the easier to break.
"You…" Lilith bit lightly at her lip.
"Ahem — did you not ask me just now what that extra 10 trillion was? I have settled another military order of 100 trillion star coins with the Holy Angel King. This is the deposit she has paid us in advance." Zhao Chen held Lilith and talked business with her with a perfectly grave face.
Only that the posture of the two was truly nothing like talking business.
"A military order of 100 trillion star coins? You have surely not sold off our T5 warships!" Lilith cried it out at a stroke.
Though whether that cry was for the mischief of Zhao Chen's hand or for the business itself, there is no telling.
