"Owl Dragon First Legion fleet — attack!"
At this time Charlotte, as commander, handed down a fresh order as well.
The Owl Dragon First Legion fleet, which had drawn back before, came surging up once more like a sea-tide that goes and returns.
Though it numbered under 3,000 interstellar warships, the threat these 3,000 interstellar warships brought the Red Demon legion fleets opposite was enormous.
That Red Demon Fourth Legion commander was by this hour frantic with anxiety; and at learning that an enemy legion fleet had come out to attack of its own motion.
He could neither sit nor stand still.
At present their fleet had been thrown into utter disorder by a few T5 interstellar warships, and their array had nothing of an array left about it.
Should they be attacked by the enemy's elite fleet in such a case, the consequence may well be imagined.
"Get me… get me in contact with the Red Demon Fifth Legion's commander this instant!" At this time, the first thing this demon commander thought of was that fellow of his.
"My lord Commander… some minutes ago we lost contact with a portion of the interstellar warships upon the flank, the flagship T5 Blade of Terror Hull No.017 among them, where my lord the Red Demon Fifth Legion commander is," the adjutant answered.
The Red Demon Fourth Legion commander roared, "I do not care! Find me a means to reach them this instant! Send word — send word at once to the other legion fleets at the rear; tell them the gap has been torn open. Have them come to our support this instant! And help us break out!"
"Yes…"
Some minutes more went by, and the Owl Dragon First Legion's interstellar warships had already reached the rear of the T5 Hades-class Interstellar Dreadnought, helping the T5 Hades-class Interstellar Dreadnought bear a part of the enemy's fire.
Which brought the Demon Race interstellar warships under great pressure as well.
But luckily, contact was reached at last with the Red Demon Fifth Legion commander they had lost.
"We—" The Red Demon Fourth Legion commander, in his anxiety, made to ask the other's plan.
"I know how matters stand now. Hear me. The interstellar warships upon my side need another minute or two before they are wholly recovered; and at that time we shall support your side at once. For now, what you must do is gather the interstellar warships upon your side and attack that T5 interstellar warship of the enemy's, at any cost whatever. By my reckoning, that T5 interstellar warship's star-shield energy must be very nearly spent. Could it be destroyed at this time, that would assuredly break the enemy's fighting spirit and turn the present case about!" the Red Demon Fifth Legion commander said gravely.
From a while back he had been watching the case over here without cease.
The showing of those 10 T5 interstellar destroyers he had taken in with his own eyes.
He understood that the way things had developed had gone beyond his expectation.
But happily, it lay within the compass of control still.
For the great numbers of T4 interstellar warships upon their side were their confidence; and there was besides this T5 Blade-of-Terror-class Medium Interstellar Battlecruiser of his, whole and unhurt.
"Can it be done?" the Fourth Legion commander asked in anxiety.
"You have no other choice."
"Very well. I shall do as you say."
The two demon commanders settled their arrangements for what came next.
It had to be said, this Red Demon Fifth Legion commander was indeed exceedingly clever — whether by coincidence, or by his own ability.
The T5 Hades-class Interstellar Dreadnought's star-shield energy was indeed very nearly spent.
Zhao Chen sat upon the sofa, watching the star-shield energy figure, once green, that had already turned to the yellow of below 30%.
Secretary Lilith beside him looked toward Zhao Chen. "Commander, shall we have the Hades withdraw first? The star-shield energy value has reached the yellow warning zone…"
Zhao Chen looked toward Lilith; he could feel the anxious cast in her eyes. "Lilith, I know what you are thinking. But I have no wish that because of my being here, this Hades should bear the shameful names of deserter and coward. Do not think of such things. Trust our interstellar warships; trust our fleets; trust our field commanders."
Secretary Lilith let out a helpless sigh — their Commander was as willful as ever.
Though as to the T5 Hades-class Interstellar Dreadnought's present case, by any estimate Charlotte, as commander, had foreseen it as well.
Once the Owl Dragon First Legion's interstellar warships had come up, a portion of the interstellar escorts took upon themselves the duty of guarding this flagship, greatly lessening the threat of the enemy's fire to the T5 Hades.
And there were besides 30 T4 Paladin-class Heavy Interstellar Missile-Escorts standing by at any moment, able to unfold a field shield together and guard the T5 Hades.
What Lilith had thought of, how should Charlotte fail to think of?
Only that Charlotte knew this man's character the better, and so she understood too how his safety was to be guarded.
Time went by little by little.
Upon the flank, that force of above 2,000 Demon Race interstellar warships crippled by the electronic strike, the T5 Blade-of-Terror-class Medium Interstellar Battlecruiser among them, recovered at this time as well.
Their star shields unfolded once more, and they began at full speed to support the field over here.
It could be seen very plainly that the Demon Race interstellar warships' target at this hour was the Owl Dragon Legion's T5 interstellar warship.
And at the same time, the other Red Demon legion fleets within this ring began hurrying toward this quarter as well.
Movement of this kind did indeed bring the Owl Dragon First Legion under some pressure.
But more than that, it gave the other Owl Dragon legions an opening to be seized.
The other seven Owl Dragon legions seized the moment one after another, sending out their own assault fleets and cutting these Demon Race fleets away slice by slice, like so much cake.
And the end of those slices cut away needs no telling.
Assault, interpenetrate, split apart, and at the last encircle and annihilate.
A way of fighting by which the enemy's interstellar warships can be annihilated in the least time and at the least cost.
But the pressure came all the same to that local field where the T5 Hades-class Interstellar Dreadnought stood.
Upon the flank, those 2,000-odd Demon Race interstellar warships, and that T5 Blade-of-Terror-class Medium Interstellar Battlecruiser, were about to enter combat range.
Should they join the fighting, that would assuredly pose a very great threat to the Owl Dragon First Legion and the T5 Hades-class Interstellar Dreadnought.
Upon their line of advance, within a stretch of open ground.
Three points of light appeared.
These three points of light swelled sharply, like so many stars bursting into bloom.
Whereupon three interstellar warships were seen to appear out of empty space!
"What is that?" The Red Demon Fifth Legion commander was dumbfounded, looking at the three interstellar warships now standing across his fleet's path.
These three interstellar warships he had never seen, nor was there any record of them in the database.
But by the shape of the hulls, they should be interstellar cruisers or interstellar battlecruisers.
And the hulls were vast — most likely a ship type of the T5 grade!
And that golden Owl Dragon crest upon the hulls stood out most glaringly of all.
"Another model of T5 interstellar warship — just how many T5 interstellar warships does this Owl Dragon Legion have!" At this time, within this Red Demon Fifth Legion commander's heart, there was something of despair.
